Blackberry Teani

At my official first day at Tales of the Cocktail, my favorite cocktail had to be the Blackberry  Teani. I was able to try it at “Truvia Brand Introduces Tru Cocktails”, where cocktail recipes were remixed to reduce calories and sugar intake. Truvia is actually a natural sweetner with zero calories and I must say a great taste. I’m all about my sugar (sadly) usually, but this sweetner is a great replacement.

There is 2 reasons you should try Blackberry Teani: 1. Blackberries are yummy. 2. It’s only 50 calories per serving. The taste was smooth with a hint of sweetness. I find blackberries divine so being able to taste it in this cocktail was a plus for me. It wasn’t too sweet, I mostly noticed the natural flavor of the berries in the drink more than the actual alcohol or Truvia. The Truvia was used instead of the the usual simple syrup.  Here goes the recipe!

Makes 2-4 oz Servings

In a mixing glass, muddle:

1 3/4 Tsp. Truvia

1 1/2 oz. Vodka

3 Blackberries

Half fill with ice then add: 3 oz. Black Tea

Squeeze 1 lemon wedge (drop in rind) Shake until the tin is frosted, double strain into a martini glass.

Garnish with 1 floating blackberry.
